Alixandre Marie Lacorte
If you stopped to ask her (which most people were usually too afraid to do), it wasn’t her fault she was a bitch – she had just been born that way. Raised by a slew of au pair’s rather than an actual set of parents, she learned at an early age that in the real world, you can’t depend on anyone but yourself. To most, life seemed simple for the dark haired beauty born to the right side of the tracks. With only a lazy older brother to split the funds with, the word “no” was a non-existent part of her vocabulary and the charmed life that seemed to be served to the girl on a silver platter only fueled the vanity that seemed apparent from the moment she left the womb. Seemingly incapable of passing a mirror without admiring her own reflection, it appears to most that her hubris will someday be her downfall, but as is true with most fairy tales, there’s much more to the flawless façade than meets the eye.
After years of being starved for attention, her frustration finally manifested itself at the onset of puberty. While she didn’t necessarily develop much earlier than her peers, her raging hormones set in quickly and the discovery of male attention became an immediate solace for the lack of any kind of stable relationship in her home. Having had more boyfriends than she could possibly remember (though claiming to have never loved a one), her cold, hard veneer is what gets her through the day. While her quick tongue and sarcastic sense of humor is what most people get to see, the polished finish to the frigid surface is quite literally, only the tip of the ice berg. Very few people actually take the time and initiative to break down the walls because, unbeknownst to most, despite her promiscuous ways, her bark is far worse than her bite. Beneath the many protective layers lurks and introverted, delicate soul, hell bent on keeping intruders away from her heart because, in reality, if you don’t let anyone in then really, they can never hurt you. Surprisingly, to those who attempt to look past first impressions, she’s surprisingly genuine and open minded – having few qualms with those who recognize that there’s more to a book than just its cover.
Having relished spending years in such a spotlight she claimed she never asked for, she quickly became envied by many but loved by few; most of her peers had a difficult time understanding how someone with so much could be so visibly unhappy with her life. Though her grades weren't quite as impressive as she may have liked, the remaining aspects of her life, a devoted boyfriend, wonderful friends, supposed popularity, seemed to be the makings of what many outcasts would have considered the perfect life but unbeknownst to most, beneath her sneer and cold stare lurked a deeply troubled girl who wanted nothing more than to be left alone. Effectively pushing away anyone who tried to offer her a shoulder to lean on, it wasn't long before she'd fallen down a dark spiral of depression, eventually finding her last resort by chasing a handful of sleeping pills with a bottle of vodka. After being sent to a pricey rehab facility in Arizona, most believed the dark haired beauty had been effectively cured but it surely wasn't long before she began slipping back down the same destructive path. Now, after spending the last two months in California with her grandparents, she managed to finish her degree and pull together the strings of what was once a tattered life. Though most of her peers still see her as the same cold, aloof girl she had always been, the past few months have finally brought Alix full circle and opened her eyes to what potential her life could have. While she still occasionally wears that chip on her shoulder and still manages to have that same distaste for most of her two-faced peers, her struggle with depression has shaped her more in the last nine months than she could have ever imagined. Now, returning to Longport after a two month hiatus in which she spoke to no one, her main concern is rebuilding the broken relationships she's so carelessly tossed away and perhaps finally accomplishing something bigger than being crowned homecoming queen.
